A little about me
It can sometimes be a little daunting to think about having therapy, so let me start by telling you a little about myself. I am a qualified Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I have been working with clients in a range of settings for a number of years. I have experience of working therapeutically with both adults and children.
I have trained using an integrative approach as it feels important to me to have a range of therapeutic tools at my disposal. This means that each individual receives a tailored therapy that is unique to them. Ultimately, I believe it is a good therapist-client relationship that is the basis for any positive therapeutic experience. I currently work for the NHS and have previously worked for numerous counselling organisations. These include The Leicester Counselling Centre, De Montfort University and various charities that offer specialist services for issues such as bereavement and childhood sexual abuse.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
In addition to this, I am also an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner, sometimes known as ‘Tapping.’ This involves using the fingers to gently tap on various meridian points on the face and body to tune into the negative patterns that you may have formed around any uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or troubling memories. By tapping, you bring the thoughts or emotions into consciousness, allowing you to explore and process these.
Using EFT alongside traditional talking therapies can provide a really quick and effective way to get to the root of any emotional or physical issues you may be struggling with or that are holding you back, in order to bring relief, relaxation and healing. It is particularly effective for stress and anxiety related issues, trauma related issues, chronic pain, weight loss, phobias and addictions.

What I offer
I offer a confidential and safe space that is supported by a genuine desire to understand you. I aim to create an environment, together with you, where you can be yourself fully, without fear of criticism or judgement. I am committed to understanding how you view and experience the world and the challenges and choices you face. I will support you in working through these, in order for you to develop self-understanding and explore different ways of thinking and being, to create real and lasting change in your life.
I am comfortable working with many issues and my experience is extensive, but if there is anything I feel I cannot work with I will discuss this with you in the initial assessment.
I offer both short and long term therapy depending on individual need and am quite flexible in the appointments I can offer. This would be discussed at the beginning and reviewed regularly to ensure we are always working to your requirements.
Please feel free to contact me by telephone / email where we can have a quick discussion about what has drawn you to therapy and arrange for an initial assessment. An assessment gives us the opportunity to explore your difficulties a bit more in depth and for you to decide whether you feel we can work together.
